Pronouns are a very basic part of language, allowing us to refer to people in the third person. They can be singular, such as he/she, or plural, such as they. They is unique, in that it can be both singular and plural. Respecting people's pronouns and paramount to respecting their identities as a whole.

Common pronouns used.

She/her/hers

She was at the bank. That card is hers. I spoke with her yesterday.

Pronouns

He/him/his

He was at the bank. That card is his. I spoke with him yesterday.

Pronouns

They/them/theirs

They were at the bank. That card is theirs. I spoke with them yesterday.

Other pronouns

Neopronouns & combinations.

Some people use neopronouns, such as xe/xem/xyr, ze/hir/hirs, and others. These pronouns may not be as widely known, but it's important to respect and use the pronouns that individuals prefer.

Some other people might use combinations of pronouns, such as She/they or He/xe. Likewise, it's important to ask for and respect pronouns the individual prefers.
